If you want to rewire yourself for success,
creating a deep connection to yourself is a great place to start.
Do you know that your emotions tell you what you value – what’s important to you – what matters to you most? When your emotions arise, it’s your body’s physiological response to get you to pay attention. It’s a way for it to say, “Hey, clue into what I’m saying, get the info, learn more, wake up!”
It’s your subconscious mind telling you to move forward or in a new direction as the future you really want is in this other direction. Take another step so you can be more of who you really are.
Emotions shape our perceptions of the world. They shape us into the people we are today. When we are hyper focused on one thing, we lose sight of the bigger picture. We tend to ignore what’s really important to us. Having a step back allows us to be more flexible in our movements and more awake to the messages that our bodies are telling us.
We want to create what we really want in our lives. We want to focus on what matters to us. So, then we need to be aware of our current state so that we can match the frequencies that we really want to have.
I like the phrase, “You have to name it to tame it.” As a teacher, I realized that rhyming phrases helped my students to remember key concepts being taught. As a retired teacher, I see that adults also love to use rhyming phrases. We are connected to our past in so many ways … some of which we don’t grow out of … and thank goodness for that.
Our emotions guide us towards recognizing key concepts so we can remember what is important to us and get what we want in our lives.
-
Tender emotions point to the importance of love, connection, and support.
-
Harsh emotions give us the ability to fight and stand our ground, demonstrating the significance of honor, valor, and fear of what might happen if we don’t emote those feelings.
-
Happy emotions remind us of the importance of fun, frivolity, and friendships with others.
Jiminy Cricket sang to always let your conscious be your guide. He was trying his best to mentor Pinocchio. Yet if we change conscious to emotions, I think we’ve really got something worthy of learning, embracing as truth, and remembering for a lifetime.
