The first time I heard this term,
bio-individuality,
I literally shouted out loud!
Here’s why.
I had been searching for ages for a good way to describe why I do what I do, and especially the way I do it –– why it’s so important to me to build my healing modality and to work with my clients in a way that matches each client’s unique wants and needs.
Then an article I read mentioned the term
“bio-individuality”, and everything just fell into place.
In this technique, we address the areas of the body that we see as well as the layers and connections that we don’t.
Bio-individuality is a term that comes from the nutrition field –– it’s the concept that each body is individual and has individual needs and capacities when it comes to health. In other words, what is healthy for one body might be harmful to another. (As a long-term dieter, I’ve been there, done that, and didn’t reap the rewards expected or hoped for.)
This is a complete perspective shift on the traditional view of health, which largely viewed every body as a slight variation on a core theme, and designed healthcare and wellbeing advice on the assumption that if something was good for one body, it would have a reasonably similar effect on other bodies.
Of course, we now know that this is simply not true
–– epigenetics alone put that to bed.
As I was composing this article, I accidentally wrote the word biodiversity. A term I knew from my teaching days when teaching about plants and animals. Biodiversity is a term used to describe the enormous variety of life on Earth. It describes the richness and variety of life. Biodiversity is the most complex and important feature of our planet. Without it, life would not sustain.
In my business, I’ve come to know that there are no co-incidences. “Accidentally” writing this term ended my word search and it also gave me the satisfied feeling which I was looking for.
Here’s why this matters though:
these terms apply to you as well.
Every person has specific needs and capacities. Every person comes from a different background and environment. Every person is on their own spiritual and healing journey. That means that each person is a completely different human, with their own needs, quirks, and unique life circumstances. It also recognizes how special each person is in how they add to the variety and richness of life on Earth and in the spiritual realm of “we are all one”.
My life is completely different from your life. My approach to life is completely different from yours.
And yet … most spiritual readings, energy work and subsequent advice is somewhat one-size-fits-all.
People find a psychic or healer that works for them, and they get the idea that it’s a universal good practice and tell others. (Usually to the tune of $497 an hour.)
And that reading or energy work will work great for some people that buy it.
It will work OK for others.
And for those it doesn’t work for, well …
That practitioner will make it seem that it’s the client’s fault. That the client “is not flexible enough” or “not accepting it right” or “should be more patient” or it is “only registering in their etheric level.”
The core idea?
You need to fit into their limiting readings,
work and structure.
This is wrong.
Your spiritual and healing journey should feel like a natural, seamless extension of your self.
And that’s what I do.
Just because a person’s system has certain results it does not mean that you’re going to get those same results. You are a different person with a different background from them.
And anyone telling you that you need to make their system
work for you is trying to railroad you.
